Enhancement Details
Not sure if this is an enhancement or a bug(omitted in JCB5), because it is possible in JCB3 but not in JCB5.
I can export the Fields as an xls file in JCB3, but there is not option to import it in JCB5
The same counts for Fieldtypes and language translations.
Firefox sees the xls as a potential threat and would not download it even if I clicked allow, so I used Brave which also saw it as a threat but I could force it to download there. Maybe a mime needs to be added?
Then I saw there is no option to import it in JCB5.
Thanks!
Which part of the extension will be affected by this enhancement?
Fields(admin_views), Fieldtypes(admin_views), Language Translations(admin_views)

[ENHANCEMENT]: import Fields, fieldtypes, language translationsto [ENHANCEMENT]: import Fields, fieldtypes, language translations in JCB5We have announced this a few times in the past, but we will mention it here again. The export and import feature in JCB will be removed in favor of a stable release towards Joomla 4 and 5 as soon as possible.
We are working on adding it back in the future, but it will not be part of JCB version 5.0.0 and 4.0.0 (stable release).
When we add it back, we would like it to be stable and part of the new improved way forward.
The one area where we know this is a major step back is in the Language Translations area, as it forms part of the original design. This means we will be working very hard to get it back into JCB as soon as we can, so that these kinds of features will work again.
You see, JCB without these features is still far ahead of any other component creator out there, and yet not having a stable version in Joomla 4 and 5 is discouraging people from trying JCB, and seeing the tremendous power it holds. So, just getting a stable version out, even if it means we take a few steps back, is worth it. Seeing that we will add those features back in, and do so with more people participating, the project will benefit more from a product that works, than no stable product.
