What Happened?

When building and packaging a Joomla component using JCB that includes a custom admin menu with an icon linked from Joomla's /images folder, the selected icon is not included in the generated package.

As a result, when the packaged component is initialized on another Joomla system, the custom admin menu item is created but the icon is missing, even though it was correctly linked and displayed on the source system before packaging.

The packaging engine does not detect, copy, or embed externally linked image files that are referenced by custom admin menu items.

Steps to reproduce the Bug

  1. In JCB, create or edit a component.
  2. Add a Custom Admin Menu item.
  3. Configure its icon by selecting an image from Joomla's /images directory.
  4. Build the component using the JCB packaging engine.
  5. Initialize the generated package on a different Joomla system.
  6. Observe that the menu item exists, but the icon is missing.

A fix is already in progress and will be included in the next JCB release, ensuring that externally linked icons (e.g. from the /images directory) are correctly detected and shipped during component packaging.
