Hi @felixkat, thank you for reaching out to us.

What you're experiencing is expected behavior and is related to version compatibility between Joomla and Joomla Component Builder (JCB).

JCB versions are aligned with specific Joomla major versions, and it's important to use the correct combination to avoid inconsistencies or unexpected issues:

  • Joomla 4 -> JCB 4.1.4
  • Joomla 5 -> JCB 5.1.5
  • Joomla 6 (e.g. 6.0.3) -> JCB 6.1.5

In your case, you are running Joomla 5.4.3, but installed JCB 6. Since JCB 6 is designed for Joomla 6, there are differences in the codebase that make it incompatible with Joomla 5 in certain areas. Because of this, the system correctly identifies a mismatch and recommends the latest compatible version for your Joomla installation, which is JCB 5.1.5.

To resolve this, we strongly recommend installing JCB 5.1.5 on Joomla 5. This ensures full compatibility and prevents issues caused by version differences.
