We are exhorted to not lean to our own understanding, but enjoy the richness of a life that is directed and protected by obedience to the instruction of scriptures. We will err if we follow the path our mind tells us to take.
You must seek the Lord with all your heart, prepared to listen to him, and prepared to follow his instructions in obedience and faith. As long as Rehoboam sought the Lord, he prospered and had peace. When he stopped seeking God, and began to do things his own way, the enemy came in and stole the treasures of God out of the temple. Believers are the temple of the Holy Ghost. Take careful heed to this message.
The King's Gate is a type of salvation, a place of power, a place to be seen and noticed. A public witness. The enemy will come at believers, but when we remember the truth and point him to Jesus, he will lose every time. Mordecai bowed not before Haman, but the rest of the King's servants did. There was no discernment that this was an enemy. Mordecai did not try to hide who or what he was. We are called to declare our testimony of the Lord, given to us when he saved us. Mordecai had witnessed some of the king's servant's turn against him, and plot to kill him, he'd seen evil. So he recognized it. We do not have to bow before our enemy or yield.
This is a message about the strongholds of fear and unbelief and the disastrous consequences it had on Israel, and Saul. Even though the Lord gave them victories, they were not loyal, they rejected his rulership in favor of man's. God warned them of the consequences. They wanted to have a man to fight their battles, someone they could see, like the world around them had, to go before them, rather than the undefeatable, Almighty God fighting for them. They didn't want to forsake their own ideals and let God be Lord of their life. Saul was representative of this rebellion and illustrates the danger of this kind of stronghold.
When God wants to work through you, he must work in you and he will have to take you to a place you don't want to be. Don't run from God, but to him.
Believers have two kinds of water-the sweet water of Christ, and the bitter water of the old nature. We are still commanded to stop up the wells of the enemy and old nature, and by asking the Holy Spirit to show us each one and lead us through the enemy territory in our own minds, to stop up each one. God will give you strength to not make peace with these things he will lead you to each area where the enemy has gained a foothold and sends out streams of lies to hinder you or lead you differently than the Lord wants you to go and take authority over them and stop them up. Wonderful message of deliverance from torment of the mind.
When Joseph was in the pit, God came to him and comforted him with himself, and Joseph was humbled. When God shows us our true selves, sometimes it's depressing. Joseph's call was mighty and so is ours. We need to die to self, and let the crucified One who lives in us live through us. He will give us power to die to the things he's asking us to. Our willingess to follow him in this, to follow our Master and lay down our life for his purposes is a life lived sacrificially. The pit creates a longing to shed the selfish and proud life in us and want more of God. This is a message about taking up our cross.
This message is about walking with the Lord in faith. We need to realize we do not have in ourselves the resources to do what we are commanded to do and have faith in God. He is our Resource. He says doubt not in your heart, don't trust in yourself for the kingdom of God is in you but not of you or about you. This will encourage those who like the disciples need their faith increased.
This is one of the best messages I've heard on the struggle between the carnal and spiritual natures in a Christian. The one that wins will determine your eternal destiny. And here's a sobering thought: the one you feed the most is the one that will win. The key is in Gal. 5:24
Gideon was a man used by God to vanquish the oppression of the enemy in his people's lives. Gideon got off to a great start with the Lord. But he had a hellish finish. God needs some people whom he can use who want to go all the way with him but they must stay small, dependent on God in their own sight and never touch his glory. A warning against getting your eyes on the church, or the leadership, rather than God. To God alone be the glory, not flesh.
The centurion proves to be a type of a Christian who cares about people. It astonishes our Lord to see this man's faith-a man who was in authority, yet cared this much for a servant. He had power yet he recognized the power of the Master. He also saw his own unworthiness in comparison to our Lord.
God was taking Israel through the wilderness and preparing them to enter the promised land. But they did not like what God was feeding them, and complained wanting flesh. God wanted to feed them what would make them strong, and they wanted what would make them fat and slow. A great contrast between today's church seeking the flesh more than Spirit.
November 2, 2008 - The last days church is a body of believers on the brink of great events. This church is filled with vessels who contribute to the work of her husband. It is a church that has the heart and mind of Jesus so that He would be known and seen. The Lord will begin to draw His church to Himself like never before and their lamps will be full of oil.
Unless the world in us dies, the kingdom of God will not go forward. We must die to self, and all it's ambitions, desires, and ideas. Unless something dies it will never know the resurrection power of Jesus. This is good instruction on our cross, serving others, as the Master did. Following Jesus will lead us to a place our flesh will not want to go, but we must endure the fire and die to self to get to the victory of seeing others reached through a yielded life. Jesus gave the perfect example of a vessel yielded totally to God and how many were reached and saved. He is our pattern, church. Not men.
This is an enlightening comparison of sisters, Mary and Martha, and how their hearts were toward Jesus, one worried over serving, one, hungry to sit at his feet. His presence is a light that exposes and reveals. His word thrilled Mary. A stirring message that asks the question: who is Jesus to you?",
