Alan Martin shares his heart with the work that God has been doing in showing area's of pharisaism. There are many hard teachings and doctrines in the Bible yet under all of these things the mercy and love of God are paramount. At times we can "choke" and "judge" others without mercy. May God give us the mercy and love of Christ in our Christian walks. A very searching sermon. Do we REALLY fulfill the royal law? God is after the Pharisee in us, and it is His great mercy to do so to set us free. The danger in being separated to God is to really think you know and judge others critically and keep others away at a distance because they're not as easy to get along with.
Calling attention to the unequal distribution of wealth in this fallen world, McGee observes that both poverty and riches are a curse to men. He exhorts the poor to avoid the pitfalls of sloth and laziness and to value hard work. He exhorts the wealthy to avoid the pitfalls of forming snobbish cliques in church, prideful attitudes, and indifference to the poor. He ends with reminding us from the book of Job, that God is thinking of the poor “in their affliction” and therefore so must we.
A look at Justification by works in the book of James as compared to Paul’s doctrine of “Justification by Faith.” McGee observed that Paul and James were not standing “face to face” contradicting each other, but rather standing “back to back” defending true biblical faith against two different foes. While Paul was affirming the power of real saving faith, James was criticizing the impotency of empty professing faith. The sermon ends with Pauls’ exhortation. “Examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith.” (Interesting side note: McGee claimed as inaccurate the familiar story that Martin Luther called James an “Epistle of straw”.)",

The Father takes personal responsibility for His children to bring them unto glory. Jesus Christ is the Lord of glory. He is the One that is in control to bring forth the glory of God. Jesus Christ is faithful to bring forth all of our adverse circumstances to work for His glory. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of glory. The Spirit of glory can take hold of the things that would be to our own undoing and turn them for the glory of God.
Prepare to be convicted if you are holding back on God. Luke 8:27-40. Jesus is met by a possessed man in the Gadarene tombs, who has many devils, and they with fear and trembling (James 2:19) beg Jesus to let them go into a nearby herd of pigs, rather than banish them to the pit, and he allows them to go. When the man is found by the neighboring citizens, clothed and sitting at the feet of Jesus in his right mind, instead of rejoicing at his deliverance, they reject Jesus, and ask him to leave for they are unwilling to follow him if it means losing their pigs. Many are unwilling to trust their life to Jesus, and are holding back part of themselves, unwilling to surrender, having counted the cost and the price too high. If you are happy with average, this message isn't for you. If you are determined to follow Jesus, wholly, listen with an open heart.",
